Many shoppers on the lookout for gluten free groceries have discovered that gluten free products can be more expensive than their “glutenful” counterparts.
In a recent piece for the Peterborough Examiner, blogger Maggie Savage offers ten tips for keeping gluten free grocery bills down.
Her tips include skipping the packaged and processed foods (always good advice), buying whole foods and cooking “like your grandmother or great-grandmother did — from scratch.”
Savage also recommends joining a food co-op and taking part in Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) initiatives.
